The 2007 Farmer-to-Farmer Mentor Series has been announced. This is a great hands-on education opportunity or beginning farmers and established farmers investigating or transitioning to other production methods and markets. See information and schedule below.

Farmer-to-Farmer Mentoring Series
Thursdays 4pm-6pm, May 24-August 30, 2007

The NC Cooperative Extension, Organic Growers School, and NC A&T presents Farmer-to-Farmer Mentoring: a series of hands-on “farmer-to-farmer” sessions from 4 – 6 p.m. Thursdays, May 24 - August 30. Designed to teach existing and would-be farmers the economic value and importance of the sustainable agriculture, three small farm production areas will be highlighted.  At Imladris Farm, small fruit production: at Fisher Branch Farm, cut flowers and greenhouse creations: and livestock issues at Hickory Nut Gap Farm- Spring House Meats.

The cost is $10 per class, $40 for 5 classes within a particular subject area, or $100 for the entire series.
