The North Carolina Farm Transition Network
The North Carolina Farm Transition Network (NCFTN) partners with organizations and professionals toward the goal of keeping land in farm and forest production as it passes between generations or otherwise changes ownership. Our work is organized into three major efforts:
Planning the Future of Your Farm
A collaborative educational effort to develop programs and resources that guide farm operators, landowners and their families toward the important decisions they must make to keep their land in farm or forest production. Be sure to check out the resource library, including the Planning the Future of Your Farm workbook, as well as education events in your area.
Rural Lands Update
A practitioner education program supporting a referral network for farmers and landowners. The RLU page includes online resources for lawyers, accountants, and other professionals assisting family farms with transition issues.
Landlink
An online network of resources for beginning and established farmers in transition, including training, business and land opportunities and mentor matching. We seek to help those interested in farming for income or putting their land in farming locate the resources to move them toward understanding and achieving their goals.
NEW! POST AND SEEK FARM OPPORTUNITIES (land available, skills development, education) IN OUR NEW LANDLINK ONLINE MARKETPLACE.
We also offer phone and on-farm support to help families better understand the variables of their unique situation and to help plot a course of decision-making. Contact NCFTN for more information at (919) 732-7539 or email passthefarm@gmail.com.
